The Fushin'an Foundation takes care of the tea rooms and tea gardens at the Iemoto and the utensils and ancient writings that have been handed down for more than 400 years since the time of Rikyu. It aims to contribute to Japanese culture through transmitting chanoyu in the spirit of Rikyu to future generations.
As the organization of the Iemoto, it carries out the traditional functions that have been handed down at Omotesenke. It awards certificates to show that the teachings have been transmitted, holds memorial services, chaji (full tea gatherings), chakai (tea gatherings attended by large numbers of people), kencha (tea offerings at shrines and temples), gives lessons in the Iemoto and the Tokyo practice rooms and gives all kinds of lecture courses, as well as guiding and bringing up the resident disciples and the Sen family's ten designated craftsmen. It has many important roles to play.
Fushin'an was the name of a tea room owned by Rikyu and is used to refer to the Sen family residence as well as the whole Omotesenke organization and the Iemoto himself.
