SADO IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Lessons at schools give young people a chance to experience chanoyu. In the 21st century, 'the time of spirit and culture', we hope that the various teachings and practice of chanoyu can contribute to the education of the sentiments and the formation of character.
Instructors are sent from the Iemoto to public schools registered in the 'Omotesenke School Sado' system for lessons and for club activity and there are training courses for these instructors. Students can also visit the Iemoto and there are summer research seminars. We also publish a newspaper called 'Ishizue' (foundation stone). At the request of Agency for Cultural Affairs, 'Lessons in traditional culture for children' are held all over the country, as we strive to pass on the culture of chanoyu.
