As part of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan cultural missions or as goodwill support for diplomatic establishments abroad, we carry out various international cultural undertakings. We hope that through the spirit of chanoyu we can have cultural exchange with all the other countries of the world and act as a bridge for mutual understanding.
Tea gatherings for VIPs from abroad are given and in foreign countries tea offerings are made to console the spirits of those who died in war and tea is offered as a memorial to deceased Japanese Americans. To increase the interest in Japanese culture, lectures such as 'An Introduction to Chanoyu Culture for Citizens' are held.
